Connie Kennedy - Vice President
Picture
Connie earned her M.S. from Iowa State University in agricultural economics and her M.B.A. from the University of South Dakota. Connie has been with Jefferson Davis Associates since 1989, working on a wide variety of projects ranging from advertising pretesting and new product concept testing to the development of models for sales forecasting. She has extensive experience both in crop production and animal health issues.

Before joining the firm, Connie was with Terra International in Sioux City, Iowa, in a variety of positions within the Corporate Development and Planning Department. Her responsibilities included heading the strategic planning process at Terra and managing market research. She was also closely involved in expansion analyses, both on the retail marketing side and the manufacturing side.


Gary Johnson - Vice President of Research

Gary joined Jefferson Davis Associates in 1997 and offers more than 23 years’ experience in marketing research, focused primarily on marketing strategy and execution within the manufacturing, agriculture, retail, and media and communications industries. 

Gary’s previous experience includes analytical and business development positions with A.C. Nielsen Company and Frank N. Magid Associates. His areas of expertise include strategic planning and business and marketing plan development as well as significant involvement in the areas of image/brand development, market positioning and segmentation, product development and customer/client satisfaction. 

Gary’s educational background includes receiving a B.B.A. from the University of Iowa and an M.B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa with an emphasis in strategic marketing.


Kim Bartels - Vice President of Statistical Analysis

Kim graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in marketing from the University of Northern Iowa.  She went on to earn a Master of Marketing Research degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, again with high honors. Kim joined Jefferson Davis Associates in 2001 and offers nearly 20 years’ experience in marketing research.

As Vice President of Statistical Analysis for Jefferson Davis Associates, Kim oversees the use of multivariate statistical analyses in order to draw conclusions and insights that address clients’ business needs by using a variety of methods, including:
  • Regression-based models
  • Factor analysis
  • Cluster analysis/segmentation techniques
  • MDS
  • Discriminant analysis
  • CHAID
  • Conjoint
  • Various positioning techniques, including developing and implementing a priority technique
 
Kim also has extensive experience:
  • Reviewing quantitative questionnaires to ensure a high and consistent standard of quality and that all questionnaires can utilize appropriate statistical techniques
  • Managing and directing the market research process including coordinating the work between groups within the company, supervising and training field personnel, and presenting results to the client
  • Developing questionnaires and moderator guides, sample design, conducting in-depth interviews, and report and presentation development
